Details

The Obisphere is one of a limited number of designs that Jeffrey Bigelow created as "non-functional" art.  This is distinctive because until 1996 Jeffrey had use his talent to create "pure art form."  He say's of his art, "if I had to rely one non-functional art, I would probably starve."  

The Obisphere also demonstrates another innovation by Bigelow.  Here, for the first time, he incorporates antiqued silver and gold leaf on the plinth.  He personally hand applies the leaf so to achieve the desired effect.
